Divine Combat

2022-02-16.png

Developed a tactical fantasy RPG in Unreal Engine with thirteen people throughout seven months as a game mechanics programmer. It was released onto Steam and is available to download and play.

Game Summary:

Play as a deity to lead a group of followers to use strategical moves and compete against a clan of units.

Highlighted features of the game that I implemented:

  • The red tiles that appear on the grid represent damage tiles. They will lower the health of the units when they land on or pass them.

  • As a defunct feature, the portals will teleport the player to teleport to different sections of the hub.

  • The game’s damage and attack systems check a unit’s attack against an opposing unit’s defense.

  • Before starting a battle, the player can change the statistics of different units while they are in the hub.

Chromatic_Platform_0.gif

Developed on a 2.5D platformer game in Unity with five people throughout four months as a gameplay programmer.

Game Summary:

Play as Inky, a slime humanoid, in a black and white downtown. It will have roughly 10 minutes to collect all bristles throughout downtown while changing its color to solve different puzzles by shooting different colored paintballs at certain objects. Once Inky collects all bristles, it will collect the super bristle that colorizes the entire world.

Highlighted features of the game that I implemented:

  • The shader desaturates the game’s world at the start of the game. After the player collects all bristles and the super brush, a different shader will colorize the world.

  • The platforms will move in certain directions after the player hits them with paintballs that match that platform's color.

  • The player will pickup and use paintballs that allow them to use different colors to interact with different objects.

Worked on a relaxing, chill game in Unity as a gameplay programmer with another programmer for the 2021 Summer Game Jam that was hosted by Game Dev Knights.

Game Summary:

Shoot needles on the randomly placed targets on the patient’s back. Once the player has shot the target, it will move to a different location on the patient’ back. After the player shoots all the targets, the patient would be cured.

Highlighted features of the game that I implemented:

  • The ability to shoot needles on the patient's back.

  • Move around to find the perfect aim to shoot needles.

  • After the needle has landed onto the target, the target will move to a different location on the patient's body.
